Containers for Cuba

Story

Each year, Maranatha participates in a global day of giving called “GivingTuesday.” Over time, you’ve helped us to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for communities in need. We’ve asked you to give to special Maranatha causes like clean water or adequate classroom buildings. This year, we’re asking you to join us in something different.

Maranatha has been active in Cuba for nearly 30 years, working on more than 200 churches across the island. It has always been a challenging place, but today, the people are facing especially desperate circumstances. The country remains cut off from most of the world through means of economic embargo. Tourism has dropped sharply because of COVID. Necessities like food, water, fuel, and medical supplies are scarce. People are unable to provide enough food for their families, or care for those who are sick or in pain.

For #GivingTuesday 2022, we’ll be sending aid directly to the Cuban people. Our plan is to ship containers packed with staple food items, medicines, and other supplies.

Although #GivingTuesday is on November 29, you can give any time. We’ve set an ambitious goal of $250,000, but we’re stepping out in faith and asking you to get involved. Make a gift of any amount. $25, $500, $5,000. No amount is too small, and 100% goes to help address this serious crisis in Cuba.
